The Leading Edge Information Technology White Elephants

Leading Edge Information Technology is a White Elephant. It made banking more expensive. It made MRT travel more expensive. It made businesses more expensive. In turn, it made every citizen's life more expensive.
The Leading Edge Information Technology promised the Heaven but delivered Hell. It promised Effectiveness, Efficiency and Economy but delivered Ineffectiveness, Inefficiency and Ineconomy. Imagined mis-investing multimillion dollars and made simple billing which can be done by an Idiot manually into a big mess requiring more than a year to correct the error. The problem is the absence of certified consultants. More than seventy-five percents of Information Technology consultants were not certified consultants in the market place. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Of course, project management failure, management negligence, leadership incompetence, corporate control gap, corporate governance weakness, are the other contributing factors. It all boils down to the lack of certified professionals in all disciplines.
The Leading Edge Information Technology offered great fully integrated, enterprise-wide business information system. In reality, only a handicapped mundane processing system had been delivered. It is common to see sales quotations being prepared outside the multi-million dollar leading edge integrated information system with duplicated entry as sales order into the leading edge information system. Multiple spreadsheets still had to be done manually outside the leading edge information system every month.
During the sales presentation, leading edge information system promises limitless capability to do everything. During the project implementation, uncertified consultants would state that the leading edge information system has many limitations and cannot do many things, which had been promised earlier. Many uncertified consultants even did not know about many functionality, which exist in the leading edge information technology. The easiest way out is just to tell users that "This leading edge information technology cannot do this." and the disappointed users will be turned away forever. This was what the users normally called, "Sufferings And Pains", which the leading edge information technology had brought upon their career and their life. The worst of all is that it was just the beginning to an endless nightmare.
These uncertified consultants had created many handicapped information systems with leading edge information technology leaving a trail of Leading Edge Technology White Elephants in the MNC information management roadmap, precipitating suffering and pains for the ill-informed corporate employees and the ignorant community citizens. The all mighty leading edge information technology white elephants had crystallized community poverty and misery. They had caused both job losses and cost increases simultaneously. Curse the Leading Edge Information Technology White Elephants.
